Calvin Ulanicki, the Executive Chef at Chateau Nova Kingsway in Edmonton, has been at the helm of culinary innovation for over 3 years.

Trained in Asian and classical European cuisine with a flair for contemporary fusion, Chef Calvin has overseen multiple restaurant concepts and is renowned for attention to detail, creativity, adaptability, passion, and calmness under pressure.

Under Calvin’s patient leadership, culinary teams strive to meet and exceed guest experiences working together with the motto “Be the best you can be.” All the while building positive customer rapport, often tailoring menus to tantalize tastes utilizing fresh ingredients and teamwork. Not limiting himself to just restaurant work, Chef Calvin applies his trademark calm and fluidity to banquets and special event functions from as small as 25 guests to over 300 regardless of actual RSVP’s. Under Chef Calvin’s guidance, his team and Chateau Nova have reaped the rewards of glowing reviews, repeat visits from valued guests, and efficient management Key Performance Indicators such as low food and labour cost, limited wastage, a tight ordering system and creative delivery of specials.

It is Chef Calvin’s belief, besides passion, quality ingredients, and customer experience, that a happy kitchen is a clean and organized kitchen.  With that being said, ever since his beginnings, he has maintained a clean kitchen, and every kitchen Calvin has ran has maintained a 100% clean bill of health from annual food and health inspectors.
